I have always been intrigued by the file folder type of card. I've tried including smaller folders on cards, but didn't like the results. Well, this morning, in my daily blog perusal I happened upon
Beate's weekend sketch challenge, featuring file folders! She included a very detailed photo tutorial. These are very easy to make. It's actually kind of funny how this one was set in motion. I was following the tutorial and saw that I needed a 5.5x7.25 piece of paper. I scanned around the computer and the first piece of paper that I could cut to make those dimensions was this piece of Bravo Burgundy. From there, I remembered that I had some (a full pack still...) of last year's Holiday Thyme. I knew Burgundy was in there, so that came out. Plus, this card type allowed me to use my
nestabilities (which, I am OBSESSED with) and my new 5/8'' burgundy grosgrain. The word joy on here is a mix of several
gel-a-tins sets. I used the 1" Roman alphabet for the J and Y. The snowflake is from mini retro flakes. The circle surrounding the snowflake is from You Spin Me Round
Supplies:Stamps: 1" Roman Alphabet, mini Retro Flakes, and You Spin Me round by gel-a-tins, In My Thoughts Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Cranberry Crisp
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Holiday Thyme
Accessories: burgundy 5/8'' grosgrain, stickles
Tools: corner rounder, oval nestabilities
These are WONDERFUL cards! How FUN! I love Christmas! I can't wait to make my cards this year!
